Elizabeth Ann Skidmore “Libby” Simmons, 85, wife of sixty-five years to Hurley Homer Simmons, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019. Born in Smithfield, WV, she was a daughter of the late Don Levi Skidmore and Goldie Phipps Skidmore Garland. She retired from Stone Properties, was a member of The Gideons International, and was a Baptist.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by son, John E. Simmons (Renay J.) of Anchorage, AK; daughters Donna Ann Simmons Bodenmiller (Tim Alan) of Berea, OH and Lisa Carol Simmons Pack (Kerry Manning) of Easley, SC; half-sister, Rose Marie Miller of Bridgeton, NJ; ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren with two more on the way. She was predeceased by two brothers, Don Burke Skidmore and Walter Phipps Skidmore. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 6, from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer, SC, with the service to follow at 4:30 in the mortuary chapel.

Graveside service will be 11:30 AM Tuesday, January 8, at the Hacker Valley Cemetery in Hacker Valley, WV. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to The Gideons International Processing Center, P.O. Box 97251, Washington, DC 20090-7251.
