Elizabeth Dearman Nash Corzine of Greensboro, formerly of Charlotte, died Friday, January 11, 2019. Born October 8, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Nizzie Dearman Nash. A lifelong member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, she was a 1939 graduate of “old” Central High School and a 1943 graduate of Queens College, where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority.

She was a Lieutenant in the US Navy Reserve during WWII (1943-1946), having been stationed in the Communications… Read More » Headquarters of Naval Districts 7 & 8 in New Orleans and Miami, respectively. She was a member of the Charlotte Junior League. Mrs. Corzine worked in the office of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church until her marriage to Ned Russell Corzine Sr., October 7, 1950.

She was a kindergarten teacher at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church for two years, then taught for 18 years in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school system. Mrs. Corzine is survived by sons, Rusty Corzine (Ann) of Charlotte, Nash Corzine (Beth) of Raleigh, Scott Corzine (Anna) of New York, daughter Beth Corzine (Ken) of Greensboro and sister, Anne S. Nash of Greensboro. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Bartley Corzine, Katie Honeycutt, Ingram Corzine, Mary Hannah Baas, Corrie Tetterton, Paul Tetterton, Nash Tetterton, and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Charlotte on Tuesday, January 15 at 3:00, with visitation from 1:30 to 3:00.
