Obituary for Elizabeth Edna Aleck Elizabeth E. Aleck (53) of Toppenish passed away in Toppenish on Friday January 4, 2019. Elizabeth was born on September 26, 1965 in Yakima. She was raised and educated in the Yakima Valley and at Chemawa Boarding School.

She worked as a laborer and as a crab processor in Grays Harbor in Alaska. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, fishing, hunting, drying meat, and traditional gathering and helped out at the longhouses. She is survived by her children, Farrell Aleck of Zillah, Jasmine Martinez of Toppenish, James Martinez and Rachel Munoz both of White Swan; eight grandchildren; five brothers, Byron and Buster Wheeler, Arnold Denver and Eddie Aleck Jr; three sisters, Beatrice Kiona, Leah Aleck, and Agnes Ketchem and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Anna Wheeler. The family would like to thank the Zillah Dialysis. Dressing will be at the Wapato Longhouse on Tuesday January 8, 2019 at 10AM with overnight services to follow.

Graveside services will be at the Simpson Cemetery in White Swan at sunrise Wednesday. Heggie’s Colonial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Elizabeth Edna Aleck please visit our Sympathy Store.
