Hagerstown, MD – Elizabeth Humrichouse Werth, 100, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019 at her home. She was born on September 29, 1918 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Harry H. and Sarah E. Gaines Humrichouse. She was preceded in death by her husband, Capt.

James Maury Werth in 2008. Elizabeth graduated high school in 1937 from Oldfields School in Baltimore County, Maryland and completed a 2 year course at the Nursery Training School of Boston. She was a Homemaker.

She was of the Episcopal Faith. Elizabeth was the Preakness Duchess in 1938 representing Washington County. She is survived by her son James Addison Werth of Portsmouth, VA; family friend Melanie Roby of Greencastle, PA; and caretaker and friend Nana Frimpomaah of Hagerstown, MD.

There will be no viewing. Graveside services will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery Hagerstown, MD on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Kim Nunberg officiating.
