Obituary for Elizabeth L. Singer Print Elizabeth L. “Betty” Singer, 86, a resident of the Orrstown Personal Care Home formerly of Newville, passed away Monday, February 4, 2019 in the home. She was born July 1, 1932 in Oakville, PA. Betty was a daughter of the late Isaac E. and Emma J. Sites Staver.

She was a member of the Oakville United Methodist Church, Shippensburg and was a Sunday school teacher for over 30 years. Betty also was a member of the Cumberland County Farm Women’s Group # 21, the Newburg Hopewell Ladies Auxiliary and the Newburg Rebekah Lodge. She was a 1950 graduate of the former Newville High School.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Junior D. “Jiggs” Singer who passed away March 18, 2008. Betty is survived by three sons, Larry D. (Barbara) Singer and Garry L. (Sandy) Singer all of Newville and Fred E. Singer of Newburg, one sister, L. Jane Linn of Shippensburg, four grandchildren three great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, one niece and two great-nieces. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 8, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg.

Officiating will be Pastor John Byers and Chaplain Ed Rabenstein. Burial will be in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to the Orrstown Personal Care Home 3329 Orrstown Road, Orrstown, PA 17244. Online condolences may be expressed at www. fogelsanger-brickerfuneralhome.com.
