Mrs. Elizabeth “Lib” Greene Jones, a resident of Carolina Inn (formerly a resident of Cliffdale Cottages and Gilmore Street), passed away on January 5, 2018. She was born in Fayetteville on August 10, 1925 to Vander Marsh Greene and Laura Davis Greene. Lib was formerly employed and retired from the Cumberland County Schools System.

Left to cherish her memory is daughters; Peggy Jones McKinney (James) of Raleigh, Ann Jones Buie of Leland; son John Wayland Jones, Jr. (Teresa) of Hope Mills; six grandchildren; Alan Bledsoe, James Buie, Anthony Buie, Joseph McKinney, Kristen McKinney Burns, Scott Jones;15 great- grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, John Wayland Jones, Sr.; her daughter, Carolyn Core and her husband M.L.; her granddaughter, Marsha Lynn Core; and her 8 brothers and sisters and their spouses. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 1:15 to 2:15 pm at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home.

Following visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:30 in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Sandra Byrd Sunday School Class, c/o Berean Baptist Church, 517 Glensford Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28314.
