Elizabeth was a proud alumnus of the Dunbar High School Class of 1967 and a graduate of the Central Virginia Community College. At an early age she joined First Baptist Church South Lynchburg under the leadership of the late Dr. Winston R. Jones. Relocating to Richmond, then then became a member of the First Baptist Church of South Richmond under the leadership of Dr. Dwight C. Jones where she was a devoted member of the Ladies Activity League, Senior Choir, and Just Older Youth auxiliaries.
She retired from the Department of General Services after 30 years of state service in the technology field. Her family would like to thank her medical team at Johnson Willis Hospital, therapists at James River Home Health and Hospice, and caregivers at The Laurels of Willow Creek. God saw you were getting tired, And a cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around you, And whispered, “Come to me”. With tearful eyes we watched you, And saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. Remains rest at Mimms Funeral Home.
