Obituary of Elizabeth Zelinka Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Zelinka, 83, of Hanover Township, passed peacefully on Sunday, July 15, 2018, while in the care of the Riverstreet Manor, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Wilkes-Barre Township on February 27, 1935, she was a child to the late George and Ann Handzo Partilla. Elizabeth grew up in Wilkes-Barre Township and attended local school and was a graduate of the Wilkes-Barre Township High School.

Shortly after graduating she found employment in the local garment industry as a seamstress. In 1954, Elizabeth married John Zelinka and they started their family. Together they raised two daughters Cynthia and Cheryl.

During this time, they celebrated their faith in the St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wilkes-Barre, where they were life members. John and Elizabeth were married for 50 years until John passed on March 16, 2004. In her golden years, Betty loved spending time with her family and enjoying her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband John. Surviving are daughters Cynthia Kopec and her husband Steve, Wilkes-Barre; Cheryl Roglich and her husband David, Old Forge; granddaughters Melissa Maiorana and her husband Chuck, Duryea; and Devon Glancey and her husband Lee, Falls; grandson David John (D.J.), Pittston, great grandchildren Mico Maiorana and L.J. Glancey; and brother George Partilla, Florida. A grave side service will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in Albert Cemetery, Mountaintop.
