OBITUARY Ellen Guidry February 14, 1934 – November 16, 2018 Ellen Guidry, 84, passed away Friday, November 16, 2018 in Durham, N.C. She was born in Alma, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Lemuel Porter Fry and Gertie Weese Fry. In addition to he parents, Mrs. Guidry was also predeceased by her husband, Paul W. Guidry.

Mrs. Guidry lived many places during her husband’s career but her longest stay was in Hampton, S.C. She loved to host parties, travel cross-country to visit family, and tend flowers in her yard. Her only “vices” were shoes, costume jewelry , and junking in antique shops for items to decorate her house.

Mrs. Guidry is survived by her sons, Charles Guidry and wife Karen, Dale Guidry and wife Kathy, Glenn Guidry and wife Angie; brothers Carl Fry and wife Bonnie, John Fry and wife Carol; seven grandchildren, Pam Guidry-Vollers and husband Jeff, Jennifer Wallace and husband Mark, Elida Guidry, Andrew Guidry, Katie Hutchison and husband Ryan, John Guidry and wife Jessica, and Alex Guidry; six great-grandchildren, James Vollers, Michael Vollers, Harper Wallace, Annabelle Wallace, Arianna Guidry, and Caroline Hutchison. A visitation and funeral service was held in Durham at Clements Funeral Chapel. A visitation and funeral service will also be held in Wichita, on Wednesday, November 28, at Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation begins at 1pm, with service following at 2pm. Interment to follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Flowers are acceptable or memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association at their website: act.
