OBITUARY Ellison E. Laney Jr. (Charlotte) Ellison E. Laney Jr., 79, died Friday, September 14, 2018. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 1:00 PM, New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Ricky Haile will officiate.

Burial will be in the church cemetery with Military Rites . Ellison E. Laney Jr. a son of the late Ellison Laney Sr. and the late Bleaker Ellis Laney was born September 26, 1938 in Chesterfield County, SC. He was married to Lola Terry Laney.

He was a retired Deputy Chief for the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department. Survivors include his wife of Charlotte, NC, one son Harlan Raphael Laney of Charlotte, NC, one daughter, Calista Branch of Columbia, SC, two brothers, Archie Laney (Mary) of Charlotte, NC, Charles Laney Sr. (Bonnie) of Winston Salem, NC, seven sisters, Naomi L. Jackson (Samuel) , Hattie L. Blakeney (Levoid Sr,), Betty L. Myers all of Pageland, SC, Etta L. McCombs (Clifton) of Brooklyn, NY, Doris L Thomas (Ozell) of Lake Gaston, NC, Gwendolyn L Edwards (Collis, Jr) of Gaffney, SC, Twanna L. Brown (Lester, Jr.) of Charlotte, NC. Crawford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
