Obituary for Vera Hinson Barton Mrs. Vera Hinson Barton, 96, of Lancaster, widow of James E. Barton, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Magnolia Manor-Rock Hill. She was born July 26, 1922 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Archie Van Hinson and Ella Faulkenberry Hinson. Mrs. Barton was a very active member of Douglas Presbyterian Church and a lifelong member of the Douglas community.

She loved to spend time with her family and was also an avid reader. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Barton will be held Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Douglas Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Brian Barton officiating.

Burial will be in the Douglas Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Mrs. Barton is survived by two daughters, Jean Robinson and her husband Ben of Raleigh, NC and Jan B. Gaston and her husband JP of York; four grandchildren, Erin Robinson and her husband Ted Habermann, Wylie Robinson, Andrew Rollins and his wife Jennifer and Sara Zike and her husband Steven; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Barton; a granddaughter, Pamela Cook; two brothers, Boyce and Clarence; and two sisters, Gladys and Edith.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, October 5, 2018 at Lancaster Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Douglas Presbyterian Church, 2325 Sunday Place, Lancaster, SC 29720. Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mrs. Barton.
