OBITUARY Elman Curtis Rinehart November 3, 1920 – February 2, 2019 Elman Curtis Rinehart, 98, of Overland Park, KS died Saturday, February 2, 2019. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Thursday, February 7th at Cure of Ars Catholic Church, 9401 Mission Road, Leawood, KS. Visitation will precede the Mass from 10 a.m. -11 a.m. at the church.

Burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Catholic Charities, 9720 W. 87th Street, Overland Park, KS 66212 or a charity of your choice. Elman was born on November 3, 1920 to Charles and Mabel Rinehart at Bethany, MO.

The family moved to Lakin, KS, where he spent his youth. He was an Army Veteran of World War II, serving as a Sergeant Major. Elman graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in business.

He was a life member of the KU Alumni Association and a devoted fan of KU sports. He retired from Katz Drug Company as assistant controller and data processing manager. When that company ceased operation, he began a second career with Equitable Life Society of the U.S.

He was a Certified Life Underwriter, Chartered Financial Consultant and a district manager. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus, the Sertoma Club and the KU Alumni Association. He and his wife were original charter members of the Leawood South Country Club and were dedicated golfers for many years.

Elman was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Hazel Stullken; and brother-in-law, Robert Cobb. He is survived by his wife, Cecilia Rinehart; his nephew, Lloyd Stullken and his wife, Marcia; sister-in-law, Helen Cobb; nephew, Richard Cobb and his wife, Rose; niece, Kathy Sullivan and her husband, Tim; and great nephews and nieces and cousins.
