Obituary of Elmer Goodman Elmer C. “Chuck” Goodman, 53, of Painted Post, NY passed away on Monday, February 4, 2019 at his home. Born in Penn Yan, New York on June 16, 1965, he was the son of the late Stephen H. and the late Patricia A. (Smart) Goodman. He served in the United State Marine Corps from 1983 to 1985.

Chuck married Maria S. Duryee in 1996 in Coopers Plains, NY. He worked as the Superintendent of the Village of Riverside for nine years. Chuck will be remembered for his love of riding his motorcycle.

He and his daughter, Tabitha would go on Wounded Warrior Project, I Matter and Troop rides throughout the state. He was a licensed operator on Ham Radio – often working many local events such as the Wine Glass Marathon and enjoyed playing guitar with his friends in a band. He and Maria were members of the Emergency Management Office – assisting with natural diaster relief since 1999.

Elmer is survived by his loving wife, Maria Goodman of Painted Post, NY; children: Matthew (Marissa Mae Farr) Goodman of Tioga, PA and their son, Brantley Goodman, Tabitha Goodman of Painted Post, NY; sister, Netta Goodman of Buffalo, NY; brother, Robbie Goodman; aunt, Beverly; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many close friends from Ham Radio and the Motorcycle Club. Family and friends are invited to visitation on Friday, February 8, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Two Rivers Church, 254 West Pulteney St., Corning, NY. A memorial service will immediately follow at the church, Pastor Andrew Rosenbarker officiating.

Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, NY has been entrusted with the arrangements.
