Obituary for Elna Hopkins Kirksey Ms. Elna Hopkins Kirksey, age 81 of Stewart, Tennessee, passed away, Sunday, December 23, 2018 at St. Thomas Hospital West. She was born August 4, 1937 in Stribling, TN, daughter of the late Victor Hopkins, III and Pauline Warden Hopkins. Ms. Kirksey was a graduate of Stewart County High School.

In addition to being a homemaker, she also worked for the Tennessee Department of Human Services and was member of the Leatherwood United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Orman Kirksey, brothers, Victor Hopkins, IV, Frank Hopkins, sister, Lois Byrd, and grandchild, Evan Vink. Survivors include her daughters, Connie Kirksey Kopasz, Clarksville, TN, Tracy Byrd (Brian), Buchanan, TN, and Cindy Vink (Scott), Murfreesboro, TN, sister, Susan DeLuna (Adam), Clarksville, TN, brother-in-law, Freddie Byrd, grandchildren, Casey Kopasz, Mason Kopasz, Kaitlin Byrd, Chandler Byrd, Emily Byrd, Seth Vink, Keerthana Kasetty, Kaavya Kasetty, and cherished nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, at Anglin Funeral Home with Linda Watters officiating. Burial will be in the Lane Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 pm Wednesday and from 11:00 am until the time of service Thursday.

Pallbearers will be Mason Kapasz, Chandler Byrd, Seth Vink, Deon Byrd, Victor Hopkins, and Mike Hartman. Honorary pallbearers will be her nieces, nephews, and cousins. In lieu of other memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Monroe Carrel Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.
