rankfort – Graveside services for Eloise Whitton Mackey, 96, will be held at 1:00 p. m. Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Mr. Chester Hillard speaking. The family will receive friends at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Mackey passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019. She was born in Franklin County on October 7, 1922, to the late William Dawson and Sadie Johnson Whitton.

She was united in marriage to George Allen Mackey who also preceded her in death. Mrs. Mackey retired from Fruit of the Loom. Survivors include her sons, Leonard Scott (Vicki) Mackey and William Allen Mackey (Martha Wise) all of Frankfort; daughters, Susan Bryant of Pleasureville and Nancy Wehr (Doug) of Frankfort; grandchildren, Bryan Mackey, Melissa Quinn, Jenifer Taylor, Heather Mackey, Michael Wehr, Sarah Murphy; eight great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Ranelle Mackey (George Stokes).

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Whitton and two sisters, Ersie Curry and Ethel Carter. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Mrs. Mackey’s memory may be sent to the Franklin County Senior Activity Center, 202 Medical Heights Drive, Frankfort, KY 40601. Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home.
