Emalou’s Obituary Emalou Hess, 83, of Port Byron, Illinois, died Friday, February 1, 2019 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. There will be no services. Private burial will be at the Rapids City Cemetery, Rapids City, IL.

Memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. Gibson – Bode Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Port Byron, is assisting with arrangements. Emalou was born August 16, 1935 in Trenton, Missouri, the daughter of John and Garnett (King) Beverlin.

She married Donald Hess on February 19, 1952 in East Moline. She worked in janitorial at Millard Maintenance for 25 years. Emalou is survived by her 3 children, Brenda (Lenzy) Stickler, Charlotte (Mike) Hetz, Michael Hess, all of Port Byron; 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and sisters, Patricia Lowery, Macon, MO, Marilyn McBrayer, MO.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Sr., son, Donald Jr., and a grandson, Troy James Stickler. Share a memory or condolence at www.
