OBITUARY Emerita Frias Blanco September 22, 1928 – November 2, 2018 Emerita Blanco, age 90 of Lynnwood, Washington passed away peacefully on November 2, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Emerita was born to Filemone and Maria Frias of Manila, Philippines on September 22, 1928. After graduating from St. Theresa High School at the age of 16, Emerita married Arturo Blanco and they were married for 36 years until Arturo’s passing in 1980.

Most of her married life, Emerita was a homemaker until 1979 when she moved to the United States to help raise her grandkids, Michael and Christine. In 1984 Emerita began working at Virginia Mason/Horizon House (Retirement Community) as a Housekeeper, where she made many long lasting friendships with the residents who lived there. After 10 years, in 1994, Emerita retired at the age of 65.

Emerita enjoyed cooking, playing the piano, and she also loved playing mah-jong with her close friends. Emerita was preceded in death by her parents Filemone and Maria; her beloved husband Arturo; her son Arturo Jr.; siblings Jose, Rosa, Geminiano, Ricardo and Alfredo; grandson David; and great-grand-daughter Elizabeth. Emerita is survived by her sister, Socorro Jarabe; daughter, Josefina Jingco; daughter, Teresita (Mike) Bordas; son, Edgardo (Juanita) Blanco; her grandkids, Benjie, Arturo III, Herbert, Leslie, Romancito, Jannah, Jun, Paul, Jemma, Michael and Christine.

She is also survived by her 15 great-grandkids: Toby, Gem, Arturo, Dale, Demi, Jamillah, Joann, James, Lester, Morrigan, Ruby, Derek, Tamia, Sophia and Cecilia. A viewing will begin at 2pm on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills (409 Filbert Rd, Lynnwood, WA 98036) with rosary beginning at 7pm. A funeral mass will be on Friday, November 9, 2018 beginning at 1pm at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish (2316 180th St SE, Bothell, WA 98012) with burial to follow at 2:30pm at Holyrood Catholic Cemetary (205 NE 205th St, Shoreline, WA 98155).
