Enid’s Obituary Enid Wilson Givens, 96, of Olton, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019 in Olton. She was born on July 19, 1922 in Des Moines, Iowa to Bailey O. Wilson and Iris Louva (Green) Wilson. Enid came to Texas in 1939 and married D.L. Givens on March 1, 1940.

She was a teacher’s aide at Olton Independent School District for over 20 years. She was an active member at the First United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and played the organ for over 50 years. Enid was named Citizen thru the years and was the first secretary for the Olton Chamber of Commerce.

Enid loved God, her family, and music. Enid and D.L. enjoyed going to every ball game, school activity, and stock show that her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids were involved in. Her home and refrigerator were always open to any family member or friend that happened by.

Enid was survived by a daughter Renee Williams and husband Kenneth of Olton; two sons, Dennis J. Givens of Olton and Tim Givens and wife Cindy of Happy; seven grandchildren, Michael Williams and wife Claire of Plainview, Melanie Alls of Kelton, TX, Melinda Williams of Olton, Lori Burch and husband Richie of Muleshoe, Dale Givens and wife Denise of Olton, Valerie Struve and husband Tullie of Olton, and Jeremy Givens of Canadian. She was preceded in death by her husband, D.L Givens; her parents; one son, Randall Givens; two grandsons, Bobby Givens and Chad Givens; one great granddaughter Kylan Alls; two brothers, Don Wilson and Adrian Wilson; and three sisters, Louva Nichols, Thelma Steinackle, and Jeanne Sachse. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 16, 2019 at First United Methodist Church in Olton with Pastor Neeley Landrum and Pastor Richard Coffman officiating.

Interment will follow in Olton Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Williams, Dale Givens, Jeremy Givens, Jathan Williams, Bryson Williams, Riley Givens, Payton Alls, and Ty Struve. Honorary pallbearers will be Enid’s extended church family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church in Olton or the Runningwater Draw Care Center. Arrangements are under the personal care of Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton.
