He was born in the summer of 1952 to the late Ramon Olvera and Carolina Olivas in Weslaco, Texas. He loved his wife Rosa with all his heart and was the best father and grandfather anyone could ask for.

His family meant the world to him. Erasmo is remembered as a generous, loving and humble individual who loved to cook fajita guisado, listening to his beloved corridos and was always rooting for the Dallas Cowboys. Always well dressed, he was a man on the go in his Chevy Silverado truck, in which he took his last trip home from Mexico.

He lived his life to the fullest, enjoying every aspect, including traveling to Mexico every chance he had. It was his home away from home. He would meet and make new friends along the way of life at auctions or flea markets while looking for new finds and treasures.

He was a hard working man, working many years as a heavy machine operator for Bar Constructors and around the house as a handy man. His family will especially miss him at Sunday breakfast, where he enjoyed his coffee while family and friends filled the house with love and laughter. He is survived by loving wife Rosa Romero Munoz; children: Hector J. Cabrera of Dallas, Cindy Lopez of Hutchins, Erasmo Lopez of Ferris, Claudia Olvera Ramirez of Hutchins, Cecilia Olvera Arrona of Hutchins, Margarita Hernandez of Dallas, Eleopoldo Munoz of Ferris, Celestina Edwards of Ferris and Sylvia Munoz of Ferris; brothers and sisters: Inez Perez of Dallas, Alicia Varela of Dallas, Adan Olvera of Carrollton, Rodolfo Hernandez of Mexico and Efrain Hernandez of Dallas; as well as a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Family and friends will begin gathering at 11 AM Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church for visitation with Rosary beginning at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Corpus Christi with burial to follow at Ferris Memorial Park North. Celebrant: Deacon Jose Muniz.
