Ernest F. Marola, 92, of Litchfield, CT, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 6, 2018, at his home. He was the beloved husband of Marion (Nadaskay) Marola for 67 years. Mr. Marola was born December 2, 1925, in Torrington, CT, son of the late Erico and Olympia (Massasso) Marola.

As a young man, he honorably served his country with the U.S. Army Air Force. He then went on to serve as President and owner of Marola Motor Sales for 24 years, continuing the business that his father founded in 1935. Ernest was an active member in many civic organizations, including the Elk’s Club, UNICO, the Lion’s Club, of which he was a past President, and was a proud 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus for 74 years.

In addition to his wife Marion, he is survived by a daughter, Claudia Rousseau and her husband Mark of Jupiter, FL, a son, Martin Marola and his wife Jolanta (Kucharski) of Goshen, CT, his grandchildren; Julie (Rousseau) Shank, Christine Rousseau, Maureen (Rousseau) Indoe, Marty Marola, Nicholas Marola, Artur Kucharski, and four great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ernest “Ricky” Marola in 1974. Private funeral services have been entrusted to Cook Funeral Home.
