Obituary for Ernest William Picard WEATHERFORD – Ernest William “Pete” Picard, 90, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018. During WWII, he served in the U.S. Navy assigned to the USS Chicago. Pete retired from his job as purchasing agent at Simms Lumber Company and began building dog houses, bird houses and feeders.

Every month, Pete and Jean could be found at the First Monday Trade Days selling them. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Emma Jean Picard; son-in-law, Larry Douglas; and two brothers. Survivors: Daughters, Pat Douglas and Sara Jackson and her spouse, Ray Walters; granddaughters, Rachel El-Yafi and husband, Tarek and Katy Jackson; grandson, Bryan Douglas and wife, Zimar; great-grandchildren, Mia and Adam El-Yafi and Daniel Bonvoulior; and two sisters.
