Obituary for Ernest Williams Ernest Williams 84 of Dade City, died on Saturday, Aug 25, 2018 in Dade City. He was born in Glascock County, Georgia to Emmett and Annie Laura (Lamb) Williams. He grew up on the family farm in Stapleton, Georgia.
After high school he joined the US Army and later worked with Independent Life Insurance Company, which transferred he and his family to Dade City in 1966, he remained with Independent Life until his retirement in 1987. After retirement Ernest worked at Beall’s Department Store in Dade City and spent many hours at his rental properties he owned for 20 years. He was an active member of Calvary Assembly of God and was honored to have served on the Board of Trustees for many years, and later became members of the First Baptist Church of Dade City, where he and his wife stayed busy with the Prime Timers Senior Adult Ministry.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Lousie Williams Carter, Roy Williams, Doak Williams, Lonnie Williams, Sara Williams Sloan, Lewis Williams. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Elizabeth (Landrum) Williams of Dade City, Children Wendell & Kitty Williams of North Ft. Myers, FL, Joy & Duane Causey of Dade City, FL, Keith Williams of Dade City, FL and Tami & Dennis Butler of Dade City, FL.
His Grandchildren Brian & Janelle Williams of Cape Coral, FL, Ashley & Chris Knoof of Zephyrhills, FL, Amy & Robbie Pruett of Webster, FL, Anna Causey & Carlos of Tampa, FL, Kayla & Devin Heimes of Dade City, FL, Carla & Kyle Dickey of Dade City, FL, Nicci Butler & Zack of Dade City, FL Strait Butler & Cortney of Dade City, FL. His Great, Grandchildren Karsen Williams, Tate Williams, Tegan Knoof, Chase Pruett, Blake Pruett, Brayden Heimes & Cooper Heimes. Sisters Ruby Johnson of Atlanta, GA, Laura Williams of Louisville, GA and a brother Raymond Williams of Birmingham, AL.
His family will receive friends on Tuesday, Aug 28th from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Dade City, 37511 Church Ave where a funeral service will take place at 11:00 am on Wednesday, Aug 29, 2018. He will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at 2:30 pm also on Wednesday.
