Ernestina Valdez Armendarez November 11, 1930 – January 07, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Ernestina Valdez Armendarez, 88, of Loving, NM, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Landsun HSC. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Loving, NM. Father Martin Cordero will be the celebrant.

Interment will follow at Loving Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. Thursday at West Funeral Home, followed by a Prayer Vigil at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Ernestina Valdez Armendarez was born to Felix and Selsa Salcido Valdez on November 11, 1930 in Balmorhea, Texas.

She was raised in Balmorhea prior to moving to Loving, NM. Domingo M. and Ernestina Valdez Armendarez were married November 25, 1951 in Loving, NM. Her first job was housekeeping for various clients in the Loving area.

She eventually went to work in the cafeteria at Loving Schools, where she retired after many years of service. Ernestina enjoyed going to casinos, playing Bingo and dancing, as well as spending time with her husband, family and especially her grandchildren. She was an active member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church where she was a member of the Alter Society and a proud member of the Cursillo Movement.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Rodolfo, Rafael, Enrique, Merejildo, Fidel and Mike Valdez and sister, Herminia Dutchover. Ernestina is survived by her husband Domingo, sons: Rey V. and wife Isabel Armendarez of Loving and Domingo, Jr. and wife Erin Armendarez, of Carlsbad; Daughters: Elva Armendarez of Albuquerque, NM, Terry and husband Rudy Carrasco and Alice and husband Joe Ramirez, all of Carlsbad; sister Amelia Franco of Loving; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Rey Armendarez, Jr., Javier Armendarez, RJ Carrasco, Richard Armendarez, Sr., Baltasar Dutchover, Rodolfo Valdez and Ezequiel Dutchover.
