Essie Mae Sasser August 08, 1927 – January 11, 2019 Send Flowers Send Sympathy Gifts Essie Mae Sasser, age 91, of Bradley, Arkansas, gained her wings on Friday, January 11, 2019. She was born August 8, 1927 to Tobe and Mandy Manning in Haynesville, LA. She later moved to Bradley, Arkansas in 1936, where she attended Bumpham School.

Essie accepted Christ at an early age and had been a proud member of Power House Church of God In Christ in Bradley, since early 1950, where she served as Treasurer for many years. Essie will be remembered most for her sweet, loving and giving spirit. She was known in the community to hold great conversations.

She served on the city council in 2005. She leaves to cherish her memories with three daughters: Hazel Davis (George), Mae Jean Mitchell, and Florine Thomas all of Houston, TX; one son, Herman Sasser (Billie Jean) of Vivian, LA and a granddaughter she raised, Patricia Flowers-Green (Brent) of Houston, TX, Fourteen other grandchildren, nineteen great grand children, five great-great grandchildren, and a host of relatives who loved her dearly. Essie’s Home Going Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:00pm, on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Springhill Civic Center (101 Machen Drive, Springhill, LA 71075).

There will be a viewing at the church on Saturday, January 19, 2019, from 12:00 – 1:00pm. Her earthly body will be laid to rest at St. Mary Cemetery in Bradley.
