Esther’s Obituary Esther Susan Seidel died tragically of a massive stroke on Saturday, May 4th. She was 75 years old, just 4 days shy of her 76th Birthday. Esther was the beloved and cherished wife of William C. Seidel for 53 years.

Esther and Bill resided in Silverdale, PA where they owned and operated Seidel’s Water Company for 23 years before selling and moving to Hilltown, PA where they currently reside. Esther was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them.

She especially loved and cherished her role as Great Grand mom and Grand mom. She had a sincere, loving, nurturing and giving personality and always made people around her feel genuinely welcome, loved and cared for. People everywhere she went, were drawn to her kind and loving nature.

All who met her were struck by the beauty she resonated both inwardly and out. Esther was born in Graterford, PA, raised in Woxall, PA. She attended Souderton High School.

Esther juggled and wore various job hats throughout her life. Wife, Mother, and as the “The Water Company” was a small family owned operation in Silverdale PA. She too wore the hats of Certified Plumber, secretary, Administrator, and even often seen as a laborer with her children, shovels in hand by a ditch keeping grade, she could even operate a backhoe!

She was the domestic engineer and groundskeeper of her homes where she could often be seen mowing, trimming, planting and maintaining her flower gardens… They brought her so much joy. She maintained her home with daily precision. Her daily routine: awake to the birds singing, read the Daily Word, write in her journal, and send heartfelt messages to her loved ones.

She was the type of person who would not be seen without her hair done and makeup on, and her daily attire coordinated head to toe every day of her life no matter where or what she was doing. She would always say,” Best never to leave the house not together, you never know who you will run into…” Esther was a woman of faith and the hub and heart of the Seidel family; Esther shaped and led her family with her tireless Christian example. With a real love and appreciation for life, Esther’s loves: time spent with family utmost and foremost, babysitting Grandchildren, her quiet mornings, reading, praying, her flower gardens, bowling, playing pinochle – time spent with friends … just to name a few.

Along with her husband, surviving family members are numerous, but mainly include her children, Letitia Alderfer, and Todd Seidel and his wife Carol; four grandchildren, Ta’ne and her husband Steve Hassett, Rachel Alderfer and her companion Justin Renner, Madison Seidel and Sydney Seidel; two great-grandchildren, Logan and Parker Hassett; two sisters, Barbara Loupe and her husband Alex, and Eileen Kern; a brother, Frank Riggall and his wife Anna; and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and Godchildren. Her Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 100 Broad Street, Perkasie (Hilltown Twp. ), PA 18944, with the Reverend John D. Schiele officiating, and where family and friends may call from 9:30 to 10:45 AM.

Interment will follow the Service in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Hilltown, PA. Memorial donations can be made to St. Luke’s VNA Hospice, Attn: Development – 801 Ostrum Street, Bethlehem PA 18015, or to the American Stroke Foundation – www. americanstroke.org .

Yet, beyond financial donations, Esther always lived by these Golden Rules: Treat others the way you would like to be treated. i.e. Do a loving act of kindness, make someone laugh, send a card, give a hug, or say “I love you” to your special friend in her memory. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support in many heart-felt forms from too many people to name individually, but including: St. Luke’s Hospice House, Dave and Terri Stonebreaker, son and wife of Esther’s best friend who, too, tragically lost their mother a few years ago of a massive stroke.

They have been by the family’s side with support, food and assistance in every way as has her adopted daughter, Linda Baxavaneos. The urn that Esther’s earthly remains will be held in nicely sums up, in one sentence, how fondly she will be remembered: “Forever in Our Hearts…” Arrangements are by the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA.
