Obituary for Ettarina C. LaCorte Print On the afternoon of February, 15, 2019, Ettarina (Etta), nee Dippolito, passed away peacefully in her Bensalem home surrounded by her family. Born in South Philly (Philadelphia) in 1927, one of eight children of Martin and Josephine, nee Ruggiano. Etta, along with her husband Philip, built a life of family, food and faith.

Sharing her food was her favorite expression of love. At her mother’s side she learned to cook and bake in the Southern Italian tradition, serving daily meals and desserts made from scratch to family and friends. Family was her life’s goal and her main of joy.

Outside of the home she enjoyed bowling, receiving many trophies throughout the years. She also volunteered at St. Charles Borromeo’s Church Bingo for over 30 years, lovingly know as Momma Etta. Etta was predeceased by her loving husband of 70 years, Philip J. LaCorte.

She is survived by her eight children: Joanna LaCorte, Lorraine (Cliff) Greer, Theresa (Leonard) Burg, Linda (Raymond) Scipioni, Diane (Ken) Colfer, Philip II (Linda), Joseph (Elaine), Michael (Gage Tucker); 32 grandchildren, 13+ great and great-great grandchildren, her sister Aurora (Redsy) Vescio, and will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. When asked what she wanted to be remembered by, she replied “I loved! ” On Friday 2-22-19 family and friends are invited to attend her viewing from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., immediately followed by a funeral mass at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Bensalem, PA.
