Obituary for Eugene Tunney Jackson Eugene Tunney Jackson 88, of Delaware, died Tuesday, September 4, 2018. He was born July 21, 1930 in Mazon, IL. to Alma (Byus) and Ashford Jackson.

He graduated from Ostrander High School. He proudly served his Country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was awarded a Bronze Star. He worked for the Delaware Co. Sheriff’s Office for 25 years of which 11 he served as the Delaware Co. Sherriff.

He is survived by a son, Bradley Jackson of Delaware, a daughter , Kimberly and Russell Joan of Mount Gilead, grandchildren, Barry Jackson, Shelley Jackson, Amy Workman, Aubrey Mayle, Great grandchildren, Sarah Noel and Levi Workman, brother, Auvil Jackson of Powell. Preceded in death by his wife, Edith R. Jackson who died March 25, 2011, 2 sisters, Violet Dunlap and Reba Hoffman. Visitation will be Friday, September 7, 2018 at the Robinson Funeral Home from 2-5PM.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10am in The Eastside Mission with Pastor Donnie Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
