22, 2018, at North Wilkesboro Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends after the service at the church. A private burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Ogilvie was born on April 7, 1932, in Watauga County to Ed and Pearle Robbins Luttrell in Boone. Mrs. Ogilvie attended UNC-Greensboro and was a graduate of Appalachian State University. She was employed as a home demonstration agent for the N.C. State Cooperative Extension Service (now the Family and Consumer Sciences Department of N.C. State University’s Cooperative Extension Service).

In that capacity, she worked with 4-H clubs around Wilkes County. On Aug. 24, 1955, Jeannie married Samuel Ogilvie.

They began a family and she engaged in what she considered the most important work of her life: parenting their five children. She served as a volunteer in their schools, led a Brownie Scout troop and was a faithful volunteer for the March of Dimes. Jeannie also found enjoyment in cooking for special occasions, hiking and gardening.

Mrs. Ogilvie was an active member of North Wilkesboro Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir, was a youth group leader, taught Sunday school, chaired circles, was president of the Women of the Church, taught vacation Bible school and served on numerous committees. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Ogilvie, and her brother, Dr. Jack S. Luttrell. She is survived by her children, Ellen (Alan) Edmonds, Kate (Andy) Whitley, Margaret (Mark) Stone, Martha Brame and Samuel Ogilvie; her grandchildren, Adrianne (Charles Aycock) Poe, Cameron (Matthew) Raley, Alexander Edmonds, Andrew Whitley, Carlisle Whitley, Walker Whitley, Eliza Stone, Catherine Brame and John Brame; and two great-grandchildren, Samuel Raley and Finley Poe.

The family would like to thank the caring staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, particularly Greg Anderson; Karen Phoenix of Western Piedmont Council of Governments; and our wonderful caregivers who took such loving care of Jeannie, Linda Harris, Doris Little and Sharon Jones. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the local 4-H (4-h.org/get-involved/donate/local/) or Children’s Hope Alliance (www. childrenshopealliance.org/donate/).
