Obituary for Eva Commander Print Eva Commander, 89, of Cheyenne, Wyoming passed away of natural causes on Tuesday evening, February 12, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Eva was born January 7, 1930 in Gallup, New Mexico to Tedocio Lucero and Andrea McClintic. Eva loved reading the Bible and daily devotions, spending time with her family, cooking, bowling and needlepoint.

She enjoyed long car rides, watching soap operas and watching WWE wrestling. She married Rodger Commander on May 23, 1969 in Cheyenne. She is a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral and worked as a housekeeper for most of her career.

Later in life, she spent her time as a homemaker. Eva is survived by the love of her life, her loving husband of 56 years, Rodger Commander; nine children, Wesley (Diane) Bocanegra, Margarite Holyoak, Felix (Robin) Bocanegra, Martha Terri Bocanegra, Patricia (Tom) Wilson, Lawrence (Nancy) Bocanegra, Yvonne Bocanegra, Michelle (Michael) Frausto and Alexia (Richard) Parker; 45 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren; six brothers and sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Claudina Fletcher, brothers, Ray, Leroy, Michael, Orlando and Ernesto Lucero; great-grandson, Xavier Sanchez; great-granddaughter, Patricia Bernadette McNally; nieces, Raylynn DeCarlo and Rita Lucero; daughter-in-law, Codilee Bocanegra; and son-in-law, Wes Holyoak.

Eva has left a legacy that can’t be matched. She will be dearly missed by so many. Her greatest wish is that her family always lives in peace, love and unity.

A Vigil for the Deceased will be held on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, February 16th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Cathedral.
