Eva M. Clark, 92, of Murphysboro passed away at 4:10pm of Sunday, November 25, 2018 in Carbondale. Eva was born September 3, 1926 in Gorham, IL, a daughter to the late Giles and Bessie (Bardmass) Whitson. Eva was a member of the Rebecca Lodge #220 in Carbondale and was also a member of the Murphysboro Senior Citizens and the St. Joseph Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

She moved to Chicago in 1946 and worked for the Brach Candy Co. for 5 years as an instructor in chocolate packing. In 1949 she was united in marriage to Donald P. Clark and moved to Los Angeles, CA. Donald preceded her in death.

In 1960 she returned to Murphysboro and began working at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital as a C.N.A. and ward clerk for over 38 years. Funeral services will be at 12 noon on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro; Pastor Charles Allen of the Elm Street Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Goodbread Cemetery near Gorham, IL.

Visitation will be from 10am until the time of services on Saturday at Crawshaw Funeral Home. Memorials are the preferred form of remembrance and may be made to the Goodbread Cemetery Association PO BOX 103 Gorham, IL. 62940.

Or to the Alzheimer’s Association. Survivors include one daughter, Donna J. Brown of Crystal City, MO, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Gary L. Clark of Canon City CO, and Thomas A. and Kimberly Clark of Carterville, IL, 12 grandchildren, Emily Rose Clark, Rachel (Allen) Frost, Shawlyn (Mike) Dungan, Sherri (Mario) Batiste, Cheryl (Brandon) Clark Moss, Dean Brown, Donald (Mindy) Brown, Phillip Clark, Seth (Jessica) Clark, Stewart (Terra) Clark, Mark (Robyn) Mitchell, Scott Mitchell, 26 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Carrie Whitson, one brother, Giles A. Whitson, one daughter, Susan Mitchell, two sons-in-law, Mark Mitchell and Daniel Brown, and one granddaughter, Amber Mitchell.
