Eva Phillips Dawson December 21, 1924 – January 31, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Sympathy Card Eva Phillips Dawson, 94, of Goose Creek, SC, a former volunteer at Trident Medical Center, died Thursday evening in a local nursing home. Her memorial service will be 3:00 PM Saturday afternoon, February 9, 2019, in the Chapel of Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 PM until the hour of service on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Cordesville First Baptist Church, 1913 Highway 402, Moncks Corner, SC 29461. Mrs. Dawson was born December 21, 1924, in Cordesville, SC, a daughter of William P. Phillips, Sr., and Violet Dennis Phillips. She attended Cordesville First Baptist Church while growing up, and was a long time member of the Summerville Baptist Church.

Mrs. Dawson enjoyed baking (especially pound cakes), sewing, gardening, and reading her Bible. She was preceded in death by a son, Anthony “Tony” Dawson; a granddaughter, Samantha L. Driggers; and two great grandchildren, Terry Prine and Joshua Ford. Mrs. Dawson was the widow of Charles Hoyt Dawson.

Surviving are, a daughter, Mary D. Hughes of Aylette, VA; three sons, Thomas H. Dawson of Goose Creek, Michael O. Dawson of Charleston, and Raymond O. Dawson of Goose Creek; fourteen grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
