Evangelist Dorothy Rozier Mitchell February 26, 1951 – February 25, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook On February 26, 1951, Evangelist Dorothy Rozier Mitchell was born to the late Rev. Tonnie B. Rozier, Sr. and the late Evangelist Tenner Rozier. Evangelist Dorothy Rozier Mitchell attended P.S. 1 Elementary, Junior High School 38 and later attended Fashion Industries Vocational High School where she received her High School Diploma.

She met the love of her life, Andrew Mitchell whom she married on February 7, 1984. Later she gave birth to their daughter, Nicole Mitchell on June 28, 1986. After becoming a widow on February 26, 1987, she gave her life to Christ.

Evangelist Dorothy Rozier Mitchell attended and graduated from many courses at the Manhattan Bible Institute. Studying the word of God was truly her passion. She was a faithful and devoted member of Rozier Temple Church of God in Christ, formerly known as Herring Memorial Church of God in Christ, where God called her to Evangelism.

She was ordained as a license evangelist. As the head evangelist she loved to preach, teach, witness the word of God and lead others to Christ. After working for the City of New York for over 40 years she retired from the Department of Transportation as a supervisor in 2011.

Her Sunday Testimony would include her pet scriptures, “I will bless the Lord at all times His praise shall continually be in my mouth”. (Psalm 34:1) “He that hath an ear let him hear what the spirit saith unto the churches”. (Revelation 2:7) Evangelist Dorothy Rozier Mitchell showed unconditional love to each and everyone.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and she made herself available to all. She adored Stephen Curry from her favorite team, The Golden State Warriors. She went home to be with the Lord on February 25, 2019 at 11:55pm.

Five minutes before her 68th birthday, God called his servant home from labor to reward. She leaves to celebrate her life: daughter, Nicole Mitchell; stepdaughter, Lenise Mitchell; sisters, Pearl Rozier, Carol Rozier, and Missionary Delores Richards; step grandchildren, John Mitchell and Demina Mitchell; step great grandchildren, Ginelle, Gianni, and Reese; brother-in-law, Chiny Richards; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, Rozier Temple Church of God in Christ, extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her father, Rev.

Tonnie B. Rozier, Sr.; as well as her mother, Evangelist Tenner Rozier; her brother, Elder Tonnie B. Rozier, Jr.; and her sister, Gloria Rozier.
