Evelyn Cole Hunka (nee Doxey), 98, of Tallmadge, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on February 12, 2019. Evelyn was born on April 16, 1920 in Akron, Ohio, daughter of the late Carl and Alberta Dawn Doxey. She was a graduate of North High School, class of 1938 and attended Akron University.

Evelyn retired from Ohio Bell as a Systems Analyst after 32 years of service and was a member of the Bell Pioneers. She enjoyed spending her time on jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles and playing on the computer. In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Cole; second husband, John Hunka, and her beloved brother, Jack Doxey.

Evelyn will be dearly missed by her children, Jim (Michel’) Cole, Denny (Eva) Cole and Jane (David) Rottke; 3 step-children, Margaret (David) McKenzie, John “Bud” (Carol) Hunka, and Tom Hunka; 4 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and her dear friend, Judy Cole. Per her request, there will be no services held and cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life gathering will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of other remembrances, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, www. hospicewr.org. The family wishes to extend special thanks to nurses Gretchen and Trina for their exceptional care.
