Robert A. Remmel, 67, of Akron, passed away suddenly on February 28, 2019. Rob was born on November 20, 1951 in Peoria, Illinois, the son of the late Bert and Mary Alice Remmel. He was a graduate of St. Vincent High School where he was very active in sports.

Rob went on to college at the University of Akron where he earned a bachelor’s degree in History. He retired from the City of Akron with over 30 years of service where he worked as a Health Inspector and was a pioneer in community health and safety. Rob was most proud of creating and implementing Project Happen.

Rob was also known as Mr. Corvette, as he bought, sold, restored and judged corvettes as a lifelong hobby. He is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth and Rose; sisters, Kathleen and Layla; brothers, Richard, Dan and Tom Remmel; many nieces, nephews, friends and car guys. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 2 pm until time of funeral service beginning at 4 pm at Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.

He will be laid to rest privately at Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron, OH. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
