Wellman, 96, of Tiffin, passed away at 10:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at the Volunteers of American Autumnwood Care Center in Tiffin. Evelyn was born on December 10, 1922, in Tiffin, to the late Samuel and Ruby (Jenkenson) Remsburg. She married Henry Wellman in Greenup, KY on January 7, 1938 and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, John (Karen) Wellman of Tiffin, Janice Wellman of Tiffin, Samuel (Regina) Wellman of Bloomville, nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and a sister, Eileen Herbst of Ypsilanti, MI. Evelyn retired from the Commission on Aging in Tiffin. She enjoyed staying at home and spending time with her family.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Ronald Wellman, a brother, Calvin Remsburg, three sisters, Helen White, Laura May Glick and Dorothy Weaks. Funeral services for Evelyn will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, February 4, 2019, at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin with Pastor Doug DeVos officiating. Visitation for family and friends will also be on Monday, from 9-11 a.m., at the funeral home.

Burial will follow services on Monday at Greenlawn cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center or to the American Parkinson’s Association.
