Evon Miller Johnson, age 92 of Laurel Springs, died Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Margate Health and Rehab Center. Mrs. Johnson was born August 16, 1926 in Ashe County to the late William and Missouri Woodie Miller. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Johnson, sisters, Maureen Sheets, Clara Miller and Christine Johnson and brother, Clayton Miller.

She loved cooking, baking, watching and collecting cardinals. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Peak Creek Community Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 pm prior to the service. Mrs. Johnson is survived by, sons, Tommy Johnson and wife Bobbie of Wilson and Richard Johnson and wife Mary of Laurel Springs, sister, Alta Roseman of Salisbury, grandchildren, Mark Johnson and wife Kari, Leah Garland and husband Doug, Ricky Johnson and Jennifer Johnson, great-grandchildren, Walker Johnson, Jackson Garland, Lauren Garland, Nicholas Napolitano, Chase Johnson and Isabel Johnson, several nieces and nephews In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Shriners Hospitals for Children c/o Ashe Shrine Club, PO Box 244, Jefferson, NC 28640 or Peak Creek Community Cemetery c/o Dempse Bowlin, 1075 Peak Creek Church Rd. , Laurel Springs, NC 28644.
