Virginia Williams ton, age 82 of West Jefferson, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Margate Health and Rehab. Mrs. ton was born on August 13, 1936 in Surry County to James Roma Williams and Martha Jane Flippin Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Lee ton; sisters, Lois Hodge, Elsie Easter, Ruth Arrington, and Margaret Yates.

Mrs. ton had a green thumb and loved to grow flowers. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She liked to travel and visit her sisters.

Mrs. ton retired from Sara Lee Knit Products after 28 years. Mrs. ton is survived by: one son, Mark ton and wife Kay of West Jefferson; one sister, Allene Gilley of Mount Airy; three grandchildren, Chelsea Ledford and husband Matthew, David Rash, and Karina Rash; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Pastor Tim Roten and Rev.

Joey McClure. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 prior to the service at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made to the Margate Health and Rehab Activities Fund, 540 Waugh Street, Jefferson, NC 28640. You may send and view condolences to the family through our website, www. ashelawn.com.
