Falice’s Obituary Falice Briggs Worbington, 83, of Greenville and formerly of Clarksdale, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019 at The Pinnacle of Greenville with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Worbington was born January 19, 1936 in Satartia to Will Wesley Briggs and Delia Lurline Foster Briggs. She graduated from Glen Allen High School, where she was the co-captain of the basketball team and was a cheerleader.
Falice later moved to Clarksdale, where she was the co-owner of Western Sizzlin with her husband. She volunteered and ran the Soup Kitchen in Clarksdale every Thanksgiving for 20 years. Falice also volunteered at Arms of Mercy in Greenville for many years.
She was a very active member of Lake Washington First Baptist Church in Glen Allen. Falice was a wonderful cook and was famous for her lemon icebox pies. She loved her Sunday School class, her lunch bunch group, and her Bunko group.
Falice was a very gracious, loving, and humble person. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Lurline Briggs; two sons, Stann Clifton and Ken Worbington; two sisters, Betty Sudduth and Patsy Leto; and grandson, Wade Worbington. Mrs. Worbington is survived by her husband, Alfred Worbington of Greenville; two daughters, Connie Holloway and her husband Bubba of Doddsville, and Sandy Bonanza and her husband Todd of Rockledge, Florida; three sons, Vince Worbington and his wife Anne of Reno, Nevada, Mike Worbington of Auburndale, Florida, and Gary Worbington and his wife Susan of Auburndale, Florida; two sisters, Agnes Dunaway of Nashville, Tennessee, and Ethelene Stone of Greenville; one brother, Otis Briggs and his wife Sandra of Greenville; brother-in-law, Sam Leto of Huntsville, Alabama; thirteen grandchildren, Anna Athey of Birmingham, Alabama, Kyle Athey and his wife Olivia of Yazoo City, David Bonanza and his wife Colleen of Rockledge, Florida, Daniel Bonanza of Apopka, Florida, Grady Worbington of Reno, Nevada, Briggs Worbington of Reno, Nevada, Austin Worbington and his wife Lauren of Auburndale, Florida, Jenna Worbington of Auburndale, Florida, Emily Worbington of Gainesville, Florida, Zachary Worbington of Auburndale, Florida, Kevin Clifton of Hattiesburg, Kelly Clifton of Hattiesburg, Lenora Donahue and her husband Cameron of Inverness, and Christy Brinkley of Holcomb; and fourteen great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am memorial service at Lake Washington First Baptist Church in Glen Allen. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arms of Mercy, Alzheimer’s Association, or Lake Washington First Baptist Church.
