Father Brad’s Obituary Father Bradley John Zitek, 58 of Lincoln, NE went to meet his Lord and Savior February 21, 2019. Father Brad was born June 21, 1960 in Lincoln, NE to Patty and Val Zitek. He graduated from Lincoln Pius X High School and the University of Nebraska in 1983 with a B.S. in Business.

Father Brad entered Mount Saint Mary Seminary in Emmetsburg, Maryland. He was ordained a Catholic Priest on May 28, 1988 at the Cathedral of The Risen Christ in Lincoln, NE. Father Brad served parishes in Nebraska City, NE, St. Peter, St. Mary and Sacred Heart Churches in Lincoln and St. Anthony Church in Steinauer, NE.

He was appointed Pastor of St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Seward, NE in June 1999 then Pastor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in North Platte, NE. Father Brad returned to Nebraska City before appointed Pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Superior, NE and Sacred Heart Parish in Nelson, NE. His latest appointment was St. James in Cortland, NE.

Father Brad loved music of all kinds but especially Tom Petty. Father loved a pickup basketball game, boating and his dog Gracie. Survived by his mother Patty Zitek, sisters Diane (John) Loudon, Julie (Doug) Wismer, sister-in-law Brenda Zitek, many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: his father Val Zitek, brothers Larry and Rick and grandparents. Father Brad’s Signature phrase was “Pray for me and I’ll pray for you” –Father Z. Visitation will be Sunday 9-4:30 at Butherus Maser & Love Funeral Home, 6-7 at church. Rosary will be Sunday 7:00pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 7900 Trendwood Drive.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, February 25, 2019 at 10:30am at church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials to We Care Endowment.
