Faye was born on July 26, 1929 in Hahira, Georgia to V.M. Nelson and Tessie Carol Lehman. Faye was active in sports during her early years, and won a letter as captain of her high school basketball team.

She assisted her father, hauling fresh produce by truck as soon as she could drive. Faye met and married William S. Blount, Jr. after he returned from fighting the war in Europe. They lived in several places, moving with Bill’s job, but settled in Bel Air in 1964 and remained there.

They raised four children together and Faye worked as a medical secretary in Edgewood and later in Havre de Grace, MD. In 1996, her beloved husband Bill died at the age of 71.

She lived her life to the fullest and loved golfing, skiing and bowling. She was a member of the MD Golf and Country Club for many years and enjoyed being out on the golf course with her friends. Faye liked to travel and loved history and visiting historical places with her family.
