Florence A. Ockert, 79, of Belding, passed away Tuesday evening, December 18, 2018 at Samaritas Senior Living in Grand Rapids. Florence was born on March 11, 1939 in Owosso, the daughter of Glen and Ida (Fall) Myers. In earlier years she attended Chippewa Hills Schools and later worked in nursing care around the Remus area.

Florence was a fabulous homemaker and enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, sewing, quilting. She was an excellent pizza maker, canned all types of foods in the summer and made the largest pancakes. With all the canning Florence did, the family only had to purchase milk and eggs for daily living.

Florence loved to visit with family and friends, especially in her later years. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and greatly missed by all. Florence is loved and survived by her children; Francie Green of Belding, Tim Ockert of Lowell, Glenn (Valerie) Ockert of Belding, Mindy (Brian) Proctor and Leida (Nate) Zeigler all of Ionia, several grandchildren and great grandchildren ,her brother; Rolland Myers of Gentry, Arkansas and her sister; Sharon Rodgers of Farwell, MI.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul on May 18, 2018, her brothers; Archie, Milton, Carl, Lynn and Bernard, sisters; Leona, Gertrude and Arlene. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday December 21, 2018 at Johnson Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding with Pastor Dan Stoneham officiating. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, December 20, 2018 and one hour before the service.

Private interment will be in Wamboldt Cemetery, Remus. Memorials may be given to the Family.
