Floyd’s Obituary Funeral services for Floyd Simpson will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 11, 2019 at the Big Cane Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Campo officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie. Mr. Simpson, age 88 of Big Cane, passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Opelousas General Hospital. He is preceded in death by two sons, David Simpson and Steve Simpson: a grandson, Matthew Barnes; his parents, John and Alma Jackson Simpson; and a sister, Myrtle McCullough.

Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Fisher Simpson of Big Cane; two sons, Robert Simpson and wife Linda of Carencro and Johnny Simpson of Lafayette; his brother, Vernon Simpson and wife Juanita of Big Cane; two sisters, Aline Minniear and husband Tom of Baton Rouge and Mary Stagg and husband Phil of Zachary; his grandchildren, Anita Richard (Kevin), Marcus Simpson (Angelle) and Jeremy Simpson; 6 great-grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Lucy Todd Leger. Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the Big Cane Baptist Church in Big Cane. Online condolences may be sent to www.
