On February 13, 2019, Frances Kay Johnson passed away in Farmington Hills, Michigan, at the age of 83, after a long period of declining health. She leaves behind her brother Melvin Lee Johnson and sister-in-law Florence Johnson of Monticello, Indiana, and her sister Donna Pistole and brother-in-law Thomas Pistole of Durham, New Hampshire, as well as nieces and nephews. Kay, as she was known by her family, was born November 9, 1935, in Odon, Indiana, to Martha Dimple Hattery and Theodore Kenneth Johnson.

When her mother remarried (to Otto Hilbert Straw), they moved to Detroit, Michigan, and Kay spent her life in the greater Detroit area. She graduated from Southeastern High school in Detroit and became a secretary, beginning at the Motor Products Company, and moving on to the Budd Company, from which she retired after many years as an executive secretary, receiving several awards for her work, Kay enjoyed playing the violin, loved poodles, collected stamps and all things Avon, which she and her mother sold for many years. She was a curator of family photos, and a loving friend and caregiver for her mother.

And so much more …. She will rest next to her mother in White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery in Troy, Michigan. And she lives in the hearts of those who knew her.
