Obituary for Frances Rose Manty Frances R. Manty, 97, of Traverse City passed away June 7, 2018 with her daughter by her side. Frances was born on May 25, 1921 in Iron Mountain to the late Sante and Mathilda (Pastori) Cecchini. On June 28, 1943 Frances married the love of her life, Mr. Martin Manty in Texas while he was serving in the U.S. Army.

In 1970 Frances and Martin moved to Traverse City from Ishpeming. Frances was a devoted member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She enjoyed taking walks, biking and cooking.

She was a cook for Traverse City Public Schools for over 20 years. Frances is survived by her children Michael (Carol) Manty of Maple City, Jacqueline (Robert) Epps of Traverse City; sister Eleanor Cullen of Madison, WI and grandchildren Richard (Caryn) Epps, Pamela Manty, Jennifer (Kevin) Ahaus, Marlon (Kyle) Manty, Robyn (Mick) Tasevski and Rebecca (Bob) Meyers; great grandchildren Catherine Brown, Mitchell Ahaus, Virginia Manty, Frances Manty, Jada Roberts, Jalen Roberts, Justin McCarthy, Michael Epps, James Epps, Danny Epps, Juliana Tasevski, Elena Taseski, Abigail Meyers and Matthew Meyers. Frances was preceded in death by her husband Martin in 1996, sister Anna Nault, daughter-in-law Peggy Manty and a brother who died in infancy.
