OBITUARY Frances “Senie” Ruth Woods Cline July 2, 1919 – January 19, 2019 Mrs. Frances Cline, age 99, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Caromont Hospital in Gastonia. Senie was born in Norfolk, Virginia, a daughter of Clarabel and William Russell Woods. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 52 years, Archie Cline, sisters Betty, Marian and Juanita and brother Bill.

Senie graduated from Central High School and worked at the main post office in Charlotte during World War II. She was a homemaker, taught swimming and lifesaving at Johnston YMCA and managed community swimming pools for many years. As a member of Plaza Presbyterian Church for 63 years, she helped teach the 2 year olds Sunday school class, worked with Girl Scouts and Jolly Elders, drove the church bus on many trips for the seniors to the mountains, zoo, Old Salem, Six Flags, apple and strawberry picking and to the lake.

Senie helped cross stich and needlepoint paraments and helped with the Women of the Church fundraiser pansy sale. She enjoyed her Sunday school class and the Monday Bible Study. After moving to Cramerton seven years ago, she and daughter Pat enjoyed worship and fellowship at First Presbyterian Church in Belmont.

She was a dedicated wife to Archie and a loving mother to daughter Patricia Cline Bizzell. Senie leaves to remember her, in addition to Patricia, sisters Thelma Murr, Peggy Cathey (Joe), Clara Shelton (C.L.) and brother Allen (Joanne), 25 nieces and nephews and their extended families.
