Frances Rankin Williams, daughter of Carrie and Clyde Spearry of Sciotoville, was called home at 4:10 am Monday morning November 26, 2018 at Atrium Hospital in Middletown Ohio. She had been hospitalized for two days following a happy 13 month residence at Otterbein Senior Care Center, also in Middletown. Prior to that she was married to Everett Williams and resided in Wheelersburg OH since their marriage in 1980.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Strother “Bud” Rankin of Minford and Everett Williams, and her sister and brother-in-law Mary and Lafe Smith of Tulsa OK. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Bernita Jo and Frank West of Broken Arrow OK; children Larry and Margarita Rankin of Baltimore MD; Elaine and John Brayley of Hopedale OH; David and Barbara Rankin of Middletown; Randy Rankin of Chillicothe OH; Mark and Kathryn Rankin of Warrensburg MO; step son-in-law and step daughter Dick and Judy Boyle of St. Pete Beach FL; and long-term caregiver Linda Charles of South Webster. Frances was of sound mind and her usual good spirits up to her hospitalization.

She was a tireless and caring wife and mother who will be greatly missed by all who loved her, including seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one great great grandson, and five nieces and nephews in Oklahoma. Visitation will be Saturday December 1 from 9 – 10 am at Wolfe–Nelson Funeral Home at 5951 Gallia St, Portsmouth. Funeral service will begin immediately after the visitation at the funeral home.
