Frances Stover January 13, 1921 – October 15, 2018 Send Flowers Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Sympathy Card Olive Frances Marie Carlson Stover passed away peacefully on Monday, October 15th, 2018 at the Larimore Good Samaritan Center in Larimore, ND. Frances was born January 13, 1921, the daughter of Oscar and Anna (Benson) Carlson in rural Honeyford, ND. She was baptized and confirmed in her home church of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Honeyford, ND, and graduated from Larimore High School in 1939.

Frances attended Mayville Teacher’s College, graduated and taught one year in the rural Trail County area. On June 22, 1944, she married Earl William Stover at St Paul’s Lutheran Church and lived and farmed in the rural Larimore area. Frances was a dedicated, hardworking and supportive farm wife and loving mother to 5 children who were all required to take piano lessons.

Frances enjoyed her activities in the church. Spending time with family was most important to her. She encouraged her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in all of their activities.

She was also a writer, gardener and lover of all flowers, plants and nature in general. Throughout her life she had an innate care for others and their needs. In the last chapter of her Life Story notes, a quote was discovered that she had written down from a book titled, “The Grand Weaver” by Ravi Zacharias.

She said it echoed her heart’s desire. The quote is as follows: “Really, I don’t care whether or not my grandchildren or great grandchildren know what I’ve been or done in my life. I just want them to know the God I loved and served”.

Frances is survived by three sons, James Stover, Ronald (Kathy) Stover, Robert (Camilla) Stover, daughter, Bette (Steve) Murakami and son in law, Bill DuToit, 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, sisters, Blanche Lucas and Shirley Belcher, brother Bob Carlson, and sister in law, Mildred Carlson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Anna Carlson, step-mother, Mildred Carlson, brothers Clifton and Arthur Carlson, brother-in-law Stretch Belcher, sister-in-law Eleanor Carlson, husband Earl Stover, daughter Joanne DuToit, and daughter-in-law Sherry Stover. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 18 from 6-7p.m. with a prayer service at 7 PM at the Bakke Funeral Home (Larimore, ND).

The funeral Service celebrating the life of Frances Stover will be held at Our Saviors Lutheran Church (Larimore, ND) on Friday, October 19th at 10 AM, with visitation for one hour prior to the service.
