Francis Joseph “Joe” McCarthy III, age 66, of Brentwood, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Jefferson Hospital. He retired as a Community Outreach Coordinator for Penn State University, Greater Allegheny Campus. He was proudly involved in a 12 Step Program for over 17 years where he helped countless individuals with their journey.

Uncle Joe also loved music and attending concerts with friends. Born February 4, 1952 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Francis J. McCarthy Sr. and Catherine (Slattery) McCarthy, brother to the late Linda (McCarthy) Klueber. He is survived by a niece, Kimberly (Les Stolarski) Klueber of Baldwin; nephews, Richard W. (Tiffany) Klueber of West Chester, David (Stacie) Klueber of Baldwin and Kevin (Aileen Salanga) Klueber of Oreland; great-nieces, Brynn and Lacey Klueber; and great-nephews, Chase and Chance Klueber and Stephen Stolarski.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 10 AM–2 PM at Salvatore’s, 5001 Curry Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. Please bring your best story of Joe. Memorial contributions may be made to Gateway Rehabilitation Center www.
