He and Diane moved from South Bend to a ranch in the Methow Valley where he enjoyed snow machining, sledding, hiking, floating the river and cross country skiing when not in Alaska. Frank loved hunting and fishing. He was known for his green thumb, always producing huge gardens and planting trees and roses whereever he went. He was an avid rock hound, and loved looking for rocks, polishing them and making jewelry.

He loved birds and provided food and shelter for them wherever he was. Frank is survived by Diane, his wife of 69 years; his children Walt (Deb) Schucka of Battleground, Wash. , Kerry (Bob) Warner of Woodinville, Wash.

and Frank A. (Eloise) Shucka of Portland, Ore. ; five grandchildren – Frank R. Shucka, Kami Maggard, Mike Shucka, Laura Brown and Katie Warner; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters Edna Seacord and Alta Packwood.
