Frank J. Lucas, Sr., 78, of Mingo Junction, Ohio, passed away Tuesday May 21, 2019, at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, Ohio. He was born April 16, 1941 in Mingo Junction, Ohio, a son of the late Michael and Mary (Kertes) Lucas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Fred Lucas; and four sisters, Mary King, Irene Skidmore, Betty Garrison and Dorothy Smith.

Frank retired from Weirton Steel Corp. where he was an electrical engineer. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church; the HOG club and a golf league. Surviving are three children, Christine (Sam) Nicosia of Steubenville, OH, Frank (Shannon) Lucas, Jr. of Mingo Junction, OH and Marianne (Corey) Hellock of Bloomingdale, OH; three sisters, Shirley Harenberg of Steubenville, OH, Jenny McMillen of Fontana, CA and Patricia Roberts of Mingo Junction, OH; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Mark) Putz, Isabella (Corey) Hartung, Samantha Nicosia, Robert and Thomas Lucas and Grayson Hellock; and many nieces, nephews, golfing buddies and friends from St. Agnes Church. Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave.

, Mingo Junction on Friday from 4-8 p.m. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. James M. Dunfee, celebrant.

Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville, with military honors by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad. On Friday there will be a Vigil service at 7:45 p.m. Offer condolences at www.
